I was born in Dublin. My mother was from Vienna and my father from Berlin. We moved to Scotland when I was 7 years old. My parents emigrated to Canada when I was 20 but I stayed and went to university in Scotland where I became a teacher.
In 1973 (after a 2-year stint in Holland) I moved with my husband and two children to Germany. I went to university for three years in Dortmund to get my German teacher’s certificate. Subsequently I taught for 40-odd years and finished my working life doing teacher training.
I have been writing school books for about 35 years and have published about 100 different titles for Klett, Lensing, Cornelsen, Westermann/Schroedel and VERITAS. When not writing I spend as much time as I can with my grandchildren or doing sports or reading crime fiction or teaching adults and tutoring school children.
